What’s Included in the Mentorship?
Each mentorship session is meticulously planned to cover all the essential aspects of professional photography. Here’s an outline of what you can expect:
- Basic Setup for the Newborn Session:
- Preparing your space and equipment.
- Understanding the importance of a safe and comfortable environment.
- Lighting Techniques:
- We will be using studio lighting. If you are a natural light photographer and have been intimidated by studio lighting, this will ease all of your fears!
- Setting up props, beanbag poses, and family poses to ensure the best lighting. Lighting is key to beautiful photos.
- Camera Settings:
- You will need to be familiar with your camera and using manual settings.
- Optimal settings for studio lighting.
- Angles and Posing:
- Finding the best angles for newborns, families, and siblings.
- We will cover newborn studio poses including beanbag poses, trampoline/dog bed poses, and prop posing. Depending on your needs, we can also cover family, sibling, and baby milestone poses.
- Editing Skills:
- We will go over my editing process. I use ACR and Photoshop.
- Workflow including presets and actions for consistent and professional results.

No two photographers are alike, and neither are their needs. That’s why each mentorship session is personalized based on a detailed questionnaire you’ll complete before we begin. Whether you want to focus on only newborn poses or include milestone photography, studio family sessions, or working with siblings, I tailor our time together to meet your specific goals.
Each mentorship is a full day (9-3) 1:1 session. Mentorships are available to those living at least 75 miles outside of Hendersonville, TN.
