I had big plans for my little man’s 3 year old session. A creek, a shirt that needed ironed, and his shaggy bleached out hair. Well, the creek’s grass had gotten too long. The shirt wasn’t ironed. And that hair was in desperate need of getting cut. I wanted his pictures before that hair got cut, and I knew that hair was going to get cut soon. Either by my 3 year old, his Papaw, my husband, or a well-trained hairdresser. I chose the latter. Sooooo…. with that said, I grabbed the first outfit I saw, rushed the boys in the car, bribed them with ice cream, and raced to a little spot in my neighborhood that I had been eying. A spring storm was about to hit, and I HAD to get these pictures taken before the haircut. These are so completely imperfect that it makes them perfect. His hair was messy from the wind, like it always is. He was way more interested in dirt, the wind, the impending storm, and basically anything other than me and the camera, like it always is. Most importantly, I caught all of his adorable little 3 year old expressions. I love this little guy to pieces, and although I look at these and can’t believe he’s not my swaddled baby anymore, I am loving all the things that come with having another 3 year old around the house.
