Nashville Maternity Photographer
As a Nashville Maternity Photographer, we know that motherhood begins long before the baby’s big arrival. You have months to prepare and anticipate that big day. Before you hold your sweet baby in your arms, why don’t you treat yourself? Maternity sessions are all about documenting this huge change in your life. I take a documentary approach to maternity sessions. Focusing on your relationship with your spouse and capturing the love and excitement on your face are my goals for our session. I have trained with some of the best photographers in the nation to learn posing and angles that are flattering and make you feel beautiful.
About Your Maternity Photo Session
Once you book your maternity photo session, we will secure your date. I recommend photographing maternity sessions during weeks 28-34. If this is your second or third child, you may want to schedule during the early side of the range. If this is your first child, you may want to book towards the end of the range. Every woman’s body handles pregnancy differently. We want to hold your session while you are still feeling comfortable. I take a documentary approach to maternity photography, so I do not provide gowns for portrait sessions. During your photo session, we will focus on the growing relationship with your baby and family members. This is easiest when you feel comfortable, so I want my clients to purchase clothing that they feel most comfortable wearing. Upon booking, I will send you brands that work best for maternity wardrobes. You can also view my What to Wear Guide. Your spouse and children are welcome to join us during this portrait session. I also recommend treating yourself to hair and makeup. I have several HAMU artist referrals.
Maternity Photography Locations
Maternity sessions are scheduled outdoors at sunset. The dreamy lighting at this time makes the perfect setting for a maternity session. I choose locations based on the season. Once we have your session date secured, I will let you know the location options for that time of year. Locations change quickly, especially during the fall and spring months. Most of the time, we will make our location decision the week of your session.
The Day of Your Maternity Photography Session
This is a day of pampering. Get your nails done. Buy a new dress. Treat yourself! You deserve it! When you come to the location, I want you to relax and trust me. I have had years of practice and training. I know the best lighting and poses to bring out your best. I want you to focus on the moment and your spouse. Feel those kicks… Dream about the moment you will hold your new baby… Reflect on the day you first met your spouse… I want to be in the background and capture this moment. So that you will never forget it. Years down the road, these days will be a distant memory. But these pictures will always take you back to this time and place.
