Welcoming a newborn into your family is one of life’s most magical moments. Family newborn pictures are a great way to capture those precious first days. At my Nashville newborn studio, my goal is to create portraits that you will treasure forever.
Family newborn pictures are some of our most requested photos. I have had the honor of posing and snuggling newborns as a Nashville newborn photographer for the past 15 years. I am dedicated to providing all of my Nashville families with a meaningful and special newborn experience.
Newborn photos are so special, because the newborn stage is such a short stage. As a mom of teens, I’ve learned that babies don’t keep. Newborn babies change on a daily basis, and newborn phots are the best way to freeze time.
Babies grow and change so quickly, and photos are the only way to truly hold onto those first days. I even wrote a post all about this—“Will I Regret Not Getting Newborn Photos?”—because it’s such a common question for new parents.
With years of experience, I’ve safely posed and photographed hundreds of babies. My goal is for you to relax and enjoy this time.
One of the greatest benefits of a studio session is the comfort and convenience it offers. My Nashville studio is designed specifically with newborns and their families in mind. You won’t need to worry about tidying up your home or gathering props—everything is ready and waiting for you, including a collection of high-quality wraps, headbands, and other accessories to add personality to your images. All you have to do is show up and enjoy the experience.
Sibling photos are often the highlight of family newborn pictures. I love making this experience exciting for big brothers and sisters.
My Client Closet includes a beautiful collection of beautiful flowing dresses for big sisters. They love twirling in front of our full-length mirror and skipping down the hallway to join in the photos.
I recommend bringing older siblings to the studio towards the end of the newborn session. I have a waiting area with fun activities and snacks. This keeps siblings from being bored and creates a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.
This guide on “when to schedule newborn photos” gives you my recommendations on the best time to schedule newborn photos. I recommend booking your newborn session during your 2nd trimester, well before your baby arrives.
